Terms of Use

Last updated: 26 August 2026

In short: the calculators are free to use for your own personal planning. They are estimates, not advice, and you use them at your own risk. Don't scrape, copy wholesale, or attack the site. Indian law governs these terms.

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you and the owner and operator of CalculatorWala (calculatorwala.com) — "CalculatorWala", "the Website", "we", "us" or "our". By accessing or using the Website you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Disclaimer, all of which are incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.

These Terms constitute an electronic record and an electronic agreement under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, and do not require any physical or digital signature.

2. Eligibility

You must be competent to contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 — that is, at least 18 years of age, of sound mind, and not disqualified from contracting. If you are below 18, you may use the Website only under the supervision of a parent or lawful guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf. The Website is designed for users in India; if you access it from elsewhere, you are responsible for complying with your local law.

3. Nature of the service — estimates, not advice

The Website provides free, general-purpose financial calculators and related explanatory content. All outputs are indicative estimates generated by simplified formulas from the inputs and assumptions you supply.

We are not a bank, NBFC, lender, broker, mutual fund distributor, insurer, tax practitioner, or SEBI-registered investment adviser or research analyst, and we do not offer or arrange any financial product or service. Nothing on the Website is investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice, and no adviser–client or fiduciary relationship arises from your use of it. The full position, including the specific limitations of each calculator, is set out in the Disclaimer, which you should read before relying on any figure.

4. Licence and permitted use

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Website and its calculators for your own personal, non-commercial planning purposes. You may print or save results for your own records, and you may link to any page on the Website.

5. Restrictions

You agree not to:

  • copy, reproduce, republish, sell, or commercially exploit the Website's content, code, formulas, or design, or create a derivative or substantially similar service from it;
  • scrape, crawl at an abusive rate, data-mine, frame, mirror, or use automated means to extract content, except for well-behaved search-engine crawlers that respect robots.txt;
  • embed or resell the calculators, or present them as your own or as part of another product, without our prior written permission;
  • remove, obscure, or alter any disclaimer, copyright notice, or attribution;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Website or its hosting infrastructure, introduce malware, or interfere with its availability — conduct of this kind may attract liability under Sections 43, 65 and 66 of the Information Technology Act, 2000;
  • use the Website for any unlawful purpose, or in any way that infringes the rights of others or violates applicable Indian law.

6. Intellectual property

All content on the Website — text, explanatory notes, layout, design, graphics, source code, and the selection and arrangement of the calculators — is owned by us or used with permission, and is protected by the Copyright Act, 1957 and other applicable laws. The name "CalculatorWala" and the calculatorwala.com domain are our marks. Underlying mathematical formulas and statutory rates are, of course, in the public domain; our particular expression, implementation, and explanation of them is not. Names of banks, funds, schemes, or institutions that appear anywhere on the Website belong to their respective owners and are used only for identification.

7. Availability and changes

The Website is provided free of charge on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may add, modify, suspend, correct, or withdraw any calculator, feature, or page at any time without notice — including revising formulas, assumptions, or rates as the law changes. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability, and we are not obliged to preserve any past version of a calculator or its results.

8. No warranty

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that any figure, rate, slab, or formula on the Website is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your circumstances. You are responsible for verifying every figure with your lender, your chartered accountant, or the relevant authority before acting on it.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we, along with anyone contributing to the Website, shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary loss or damage — including loss of profit, savings, investment value, opportunity, data, or goodwill — arising from or connected with your access to, use of, or inability to use the Website, or your reliance on any result it produces, whether in contract, tort, negligence, statute, or otherwise, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such loss.

Since the Website is provided free of charge, our aggregate liability to you for all claims, if any liability is nonetheless established, shall not exceed ₹1,000 (Rupees one thousand). Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under Indian law.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Website, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

11. Third-party links, advertising, and affiliate links

The Website may link to third-party sites and may display third-party advertising. We do not control or endorse their content, products, terms, or privacy practices, and your dealings with them are entirely between you and them. Where a link is an affiliate or referral link that may earn us a commission, it will be disclosed as required by the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the Central Consumer Protection Authority's Guidelines for Prevention of Misleading Advertisements and Endorsements, 2022, and the ASCI Guidelines for Influencer Advertising in Digital Media. Commissions do not influence any calculator's output.

12. Privacy

Your calculator inputs are processed entirely within your browser and are never transmitted to us. How we handle the limited technical data we do receive is described in our Privacy Policy, which is written to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

13. Termination

We may restrict or terminate your access to the Website at any time, without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or are misusing the Website. Sections 6, 8, 9, 10, 14 and 15 survive any termination.

14. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or the Website are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to section 15, the courts of competent jurisdiction in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute. The parties shall first attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute amicably through the grievance mechanism below.

15. Grievance redressal

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, complaints about the Website or its content may be sent to:

Grievance Officer, CalculatorWala
Email: contactcalculatorwala@gmail.com
Acknowledgement: within 24 hours of receipt.
Resolution: within 15 days of receipt.

Please describe the issue clearly, with the page URL and, where relevant, the inputs used, so we can reproduce and address it. Privacy and personal-data grievances are handled under section 10 of the Privacy Policy.

16. General

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, are the entire agreement between us regarding the Website. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remainder stays in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign your rights under these Terms; we may assign ours in connection with a transfer of the Website or domain. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, agency, or employment relationship.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. The revised version takes effect when published on this page, and the "Last updated" date will change. Your continued use of the Website after a revision constitutes acceptance of it. Please check this page from time to time.
